Why a move here is quoted the way it is

Federal Way runs on big managed apartment communities, and almost none of them let a truck sit at the building entrance without arrangement. Management assigns a window and a spot, usually not the closest one, so the carry can be a hundred feet across a parking lot. We book that window ahead and price the carry into the hours rather than adding it later.

Moving inside Federal Way is priced exactly as anywhere else we work: $155 an hour for 2 movers + truck, a 3 hours minimum, and travel time already inside the rate. There is no Federal Way zone fee and no mileage line on the invoice.

On the quote call we ask three things — how many rooms, how many flights of stairs, and how close the truck can park. Those decide the hours, and the hours decide the price. Everything else is already included: blankets, shrink wrap, floor runners, dollies and straps.

Federal Way is served out of our Washington office in Seattle, WA. Call (720) 343-1229 and you reach the people who dispatch the crew, 7:00 am – 9:00 pm, seven days.

Questions

Moving in Federal Way — what people ask

How much do movers cost in Federal Way?

$155 an hour for 2 movers + truck, $215 an hour for three movers, with a 3 hours minimum. Travel time is inside the rate, so there is no separate mileage line for Federal Way and no zone fee.

Do you handle parking and permits in Federal Way?

We ask about the approach on the quote call. In Twin Lakes and Redondo that usually means checking how close the truck can sit to the door; where a building or the city requires a reserved space or a permit, we tell you before the date is booked rather than on the morning.

What about stairs and elevators?

Neither is charged as an extra. Walk-ups and buildings with a service elevator both get counted as hours on the estimate, because that is what they actually cost. If a building books its elevator in blocks, we reserve one and plan the load around it.

How far is the crew from Federal Way?

Federal Way is dispatched from our Washington office in Seattle, WA. The drive is already inside the hourly rate — it is not added to the invoice afterwards.
